Staff Accountant/Construction Administrative Assistant

General Description
The Construction Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing clerical support for the Construction Manager. Maintains and updates Procurement and Accounting files, prepares documents/reports, and researches discrepancies. Assists Accounting personnel as requested.
Work Schedule
- Requires morning, afternoon and evenings. Monday through Friday
- Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides Procurement support which includes: identifying and sourcing materials/tools/subcontractors, coordinating the purchasing process and following up on deliveries.
- Maintains an organized database for the following: list of suppliers, quotes, and contract records.
- Assists in reviewing contracts and agreements prior to sending to legal.
- Handles all phone calls, emails, and inquiries, directing them as needed.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes as required.
- Support project management efforts by tracking project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Effectively researches, tracks, and resolves accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
- Assists accounting department personnel as needed with tasks that include but are not limited to: creating and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, end of year tax filing/forms, and monthly/yearly closing process.
- Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
- Must exhibit STAR treatment to all customers and co-workers.
Physical Job Requirements
- Sit and/or stand continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with lunch break.
- Requires bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting and pulling.
- Move objects up to and exceeding 25lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
- Office environment with some casino floor environment.
Qualification Standards
- Must have 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an office assistant or in a similar administrative role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test.
- Must be able to qualify and maintain a Cheyenne- Arapaho Gaming License.
